Welcome to 'Poco Loco'.
... dedicated to music - both old and new - made by the spanish
guitar - inspired by the hot rhythms of Gypsy
manouche and new flamenco guitar. Flamenco is the traditional music of the Gypsies (called flamencos) from southern Spain. It took several centuries of development before flamenco music came to be accepted by society in general.
Gradually, the term Flamenco
became broadly used to describe the songs, dance, and musical style of
the Gypsy people. This site will explore this tradition and the
exciting new places contemporary music influences have taken it.
Music lovers owe the Gypsy people a huge debt. Another great related guitar tradition is the Gypsy swing jazz, or Manouche, so eminently mapped out and defined by the genius of the great Django Rheinhardt. Tango with us as we celebrate this energetic and entertaining acoustic guitar tradition also, here at Poco Loco, and explore the styles and musical artists of this uplifting, exuberant, and highly creative improvised musical genre. It's music with passion, just a little bit crazy. We live and breathe guitar music here at Poco Loco and this site will boast a wealth of information about this noble and versatile musical tool, its secrets and history. We also offer guitar playing tutorials and tips.
